Club Details
The Blue Sky Sailing Club was incorporated May 1, 2007.
Purpose:
To grow the sport of sailing in the area with the Ontario Sailing Association (OSA)
To provide sailing opportunities to its members through renting boats
To offer sailing instruction in the Dinghy classes to Canadian Yachting Association standards (CYA White Sail)
To offer sailing instruction in Basic and Advanced Cruising (CYA Learn to Cruise)
To provide the opportunity to learn the basics of sailing through the pinch hitter course

To encourage competition on the local, regional and provincial level
Equipment:
10' Pram
12' Kolibri 2-12
16' CL-16
21' Ocean fixed Keel
23' Coronado shallow draft.
Membership:
New members pay a one-time initiation fee of $100
All members pay annual dues of $100
You can sail any time by scheduling yourself on our sailing calendar accessible with your password
Social membership:
New social members pay a $50 Initiation fee
All inactive and new members pay $50 annual dues
This class of membership can participate in all social events
All members can participate in the Group sailing occurring on Saturday afternoon and Monday evenings.
Facilities:
We have 3 slips for the boats 16' and up
We have a floating dock for the Pram and the Kolibri
We also have 3 trailers to transport the boats to events
Financing:
Financing is done through a bank loan from RBC and is paid down with initiation fees and rental fees
Insurance:
Through the OSA we have $2,000,000 in liability insurance.
Operation:
We have a Managing Board of Directors consisting of 6 members, overseeing the organization and its programs
Schedules are posted on our website
Boat scheduling is done on our calendar, also posted on the website (a password is required for access)
Meetings:
The Annual General Meeting is held the first half of March.
Other meetings are scheduled well in advance and are open to prospective members
